Perhaps it's unwise for me to admit this, but among the many screenplays I'm (admittedly somewhat halfheartedly) working on is one about, um, killer jellyfish. Though not, I should clarify, were-jellyfish. (Also, not killer siphonophores.)

Footnote: Fun fact: the Portuguese man o’ war isn’t actually a jellyfish at all. It’s a siphonophore, a colony animal consisting of four individuals, each of which differentiates into a distinct, functioning body part: in this case, one becomes the float, one becomes the stinging tentacles, one becomes the feeding tentacles, and one becomes the reproductive system.

Lyz, when I was a zoology major their was a huge debate about whether a man o’war was a single individual with organs, a four-individual colony as you describe, or a colony of hundreds of individuals with each siphon a separate individual. Has this been resolved?
