I had to do a double take when I saw the roundtables theme. It’s amazing that it’s taken this long for one focused on Roger Coman! Should be interesting to see what gets put out.

Another chance wasted to do a roundtable on the guys who make the Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, Meet the Spartans movies. Honestly, you guys blew it. Whose this Corman fella? What semi-recent blockbuster has he ever parodied.

Turzman: You did spell it correctly. However, I’m guessing no one is going to cover it, unless they expand to cover movies he produced, as well as those he directed.
For some reason, I have a feeling that The Saga of the Viking Women and Their Voyage to the Waters of the Great Sea Serpent is going to be in there, possibly from Teleport City. I have no earthly idea why.

I hear Corman’s next project will be a feature length film shot in a single afternoon using cell phone cameras and a cast of people randomly pulled off the streets that morning. The script will be entirely improvised, and the monster will be a dude in a black plastic trash bag that has toy dinosaurs glued all over it. The title? Garbagesaurus Rex. The tagline? “It lives in your trash can; it lives on your girlfriend’s flesh!” The release date? Next weekend.

I believe we did agree to include Corman’s work as producer. After all, he took an unusually hands-on approach to that position, at least until the Concorde-New Horizons production schedule became so hectic that he couldn’t anymore, and the films he produced often bore his stamp at least as prominently as their credited directors’.
(At least I hope I remember us agreeing to that. Otherwise, I’m going to have to make a different selection!)

The agreement was “directed by Roger Corman” and “produced by Roger Corman”, but not “presented by Roger Corman”.

In that case, I hope Carnosaur pops up at AYCYAS! I like when Lyz gets to pound on movie SCIENCE~!!, although maybe it wouldn’t provide enough material for her on that end.
Of course, seeing as most people don’t seem to like it as much as I do (which isn’t exactly saying much), perhaps I shouldn’t wish it on her, period.

Last year, my job made me attend a two day course on Project Management, teaching me the importance of getting all those layers of checks and reports in place. At the same time, I read ‘How I Made a Hundred Movies in Hollywood and Never Lost a Dime’, by Roger Corman. Now that Britain has fallen down the fiscal toilet, thank God one of those experiences taught me a lot about getting things done…
