Roundtable time again already!? Yup, and this time around the B-Masters are paying tribute to the company that never met a social trend it couldn’t exploit; that set new and still standing records for the gap between the content of the advertising art and the content of the completed film; and (perhaps above all) that unleashed Roger Corman upon an unsuspecting public.

It’s ON TIME & UNDER BUDGET: A Salute To American International Pictures. All throughout the month of February at the B-Masters’ Blog!

Were they the ones who had the practically naked woman on the cover of “Last Woman on Earth” and then proceeded to (I assume) not have any naked women in the film itself?

No, they’re the ones who put a picture of a giant wasp monster on the cover of The Wasp Women and then gave us Susan Cabot in googly eyes and a body stocking.

And the ones who promised a giant mutated eight-eyed rodent menacing a girl in a bikini, then served up a dented coffee pot sitting in a ditch. Still my personal favourite. (Last Woman On Earth wasn’t AIP, but it was Corman.)

(You’re complaining about Susan Cabot in a body-stocking?)

What movie was that, Lyz? (the one that promised the mutant rodent)

Well, golly gee, if you stick around long enough, you might find out…

It is less the actual end product than the principle of the thing, Liz. Anyway, I’m afraid insectoids have never really done it for me.
